At LifeStream, we are convinced that Home Connections Groups are essential to the church's growth! There had been challenges sustaining these groups but our resolve is as strong as ever to keep them going and to open more!

Here are the reasons why:

1. We Weren’t Created to be Alone – A Home Bible Study Group is an excellent way to encourage intimacy among church goers. These groups offer a place to connect with other believers in fellowship; to grow in our understanding of the Bible, as Jesus’ own small group of disciples did; to meet the needs of others in your group in ministry; to become equipped for evangelism; and to worship God through practicing godly behavior. Individual Christians can study the Bible on their own. In fact, they should! Personal Bible study is essential for deepening each Christian’s relationship with God. So why study with a group? As, Rick Warren says in The Purpose Driven Life, “Because God didn’t create you to be alone.”

2. It Will Transform Your Life! – A Home Bible Study Group offers a place to connect with other believers, making you part of a family. And when you’re in a family you learn to love others, for better or worse. You can’t learn how to love on your own. It also offers a safe place to get your questions answered as well as help others find answers as well.

3. Provides an environment where Prayers and Victories are shared – The Bible has specific things to say about the power of praying in a group. In Acts 12:1-18 we see that Peter was miraculously let out of prison by an angel as a small group gathered in a house and prayed for him. In time, you’ll come to see your home Bible study group as a safe place to go when you hurt, as well as when you want to share exciting victories in your life. Stories of help and healing abound in small group settings. The Bible says:

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25 NIV)
